I enjoy golf, but not the 4 hours my arms are in the sun. With skin cancer running in the family, I try to reduce the amount of time I spend in the sun.  I have been playing weekend golf for about 25 years now and believe in wearing the traditional collar shirt to play golf.  With the lack of quality collared long sleeve golf shirts available on the market today, I became one of those “two-shirts” guys (long sleeve under shirt with a short sleeve collar golf shirt). I never liked the look, but living in Southern California I play in the sun most of the time.  I became frustrated with the lack of comfortable long sleeve collared shirts available, so I decided to make my own shirts.

After several tries over the last couple of years, I finally found a fabric that kept my body temperature comfortable in temperatures up to 110 degrees. I designed the shirts not only for protection, comfort, and style, but freedom to swing my clubs with no restrictions.  I originally made them for me, but a friend of mine told me others may be looking for the same thing. Given the number of fellow “two-shirts” guys on the course, I figured he might be right.

So that is the story of 5150 by Design Golf Activewear shirts. I hope they bring you the same comfort, protection, and style I enjoy while wearing them.
